Uli Bankart

Hi I’m Uli, I am German but have lived in England these last 30+ years after marrying a native.
Art and creativity have always been a big joy and part of my life, having studied publishing I worked at an Art publishing house in the 90’s driven by this passion.
One thing I have always loved collecting was beautiful ceramics; mugs, bowels, platters anything that serves both function with beauty.
I fell in love with the medium of clay and have never looked back. Developing a style influenced by my German background and love of English quaintness. My work ranges from mini Christmas decorations, matchstick pots to ramen bowels, mugs even candlesticks. Relishing in different glaze colours or painting techniques and sometimes a much beloved design of little sculptural birds perching on the edge of a mug or bowl.
